This is an absolutely AWESOME logic!!!! I love the signal and it was simple to complex. Worth each penny! I love the arrangement speaker that came with it I purchased a second one and can easily and conveniently stream my music any everywhere I am!

I was looking pro a logic including the intention of is instant to bed in and has a skilled feature signal. This manufactured goods meets in cooperation. Fee sensible, costco had a akin manufactured goods on deal pro 150$ a cut-rate amount of.

My main reason for purchasing this solution was the wireless rear lecturer complex. To clarify "wireless", this system does not require you to run wires starting the A/V receiver to your rear speakers. The rear speakers connect to a receiver box that gets the audio signal wirelessly starting the A/V receiver. Once complex, this system is brilliant.- The front tower speakers are great for not requiring separate lecturer stands.- The A/V receiver is compact (compared to most standalone receivers).- Audio complex is easy and extremely true- All the passthroughs allow you to eliminate wires over a normal setupThe big negative on this system is the lack of promote and play with Xbox360 and my Comcast cable box.- With the Xbox 360, if you want to pass the audio/video through this A/V receiver you must get on to a digit of settings changes on the Xbox and the Sony receiver for it to work. This took me about 1.5 hours to figure made known- With the Comcast cable box, you will not be able to pass the video through the Sony A/V receiver. This is due to something with HDCP between the Comcast box, the A/V receiver. You will need to run the HDMI for video directly starting the Comcast box to your TV, then run Optical Audio starting the Comcast box to the A/V receiver. This makes switching between TV, Xbox, and BD/DVD more involved. Before buying, I would check your cable box and with your cable company to ensure this will work seamlessly. I will be buying a TiVO to get on to almost this issue. I would also highly suggest buying a programmable universal remote such as the Logitech Harmony One.EDITED REVIEW 6/28/2012: I returned this element due to the fact it cannot accept a surround sound signal over HDMI starting a Surround Sound source (i.e Dolby Digital 5.1 starting an Xbox360 or Dolby Digital 5.1 starting a TiVo). This was confirmed by Sony phone support. For such an high-priced system this is really a huge oversight, and deal-breaker if you want to use it for the main system for your income room.

I'm replacing a 420 watt Sony 5.1 logic with this 1000 watt Sony 5.1 logic. I'm not an audiophile and I can't see the alteration between the idiotic highs and idiotic lows. But I can say that this does signal good to my ears. The sounds is apparent with nominal hiss. It the the boards well with my Sony tv (kdl55nx810). I actually like the fact that it tells my tv to turn off its crappy speakers as the systems speakers are early.Pro's1. By my Directv diffident, I can do a turn all off and it will turn of the dtv receiver, the box and the audio receiver.2. Splendid apparent signal for the money3. Easy set up and installation. Sony has full some of the "estimate work" out of the process and it was easy to do. I took my sweet time, but you may maybe basically be up and in succession in a theme of 15 outline. I in fact enjoyed the difficult of the speakers by the provided microphone. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was cool, but it was neat.4. Exceptional depiction feature for the blu-rays. I by now own a Sony blu-ray player and the audio logic is on par in regards to depiction feature.5. Ample imputs. Not needing to join a blu-ray player in the end opens up one hdmi imput. I can, even if I don't, run the directv receiver owing to the audio receiver and a ps3 or xbox 360. So it isn't a ton of inputs, but it is more than I need.6. Facility well with optical cable out from the tv. I run all of my cleverness to my tv and then the audio out to the audio receiver. It facility fine and here isn't any lag.7. Wireless speakers were easy to bed in and I in fact like their complex. I have a crowd of wifi or 3g/4g cleverness (2 mobile phones, 1 dosage, 2 laptops, etc.) near the speakers and I house of safeguard't heard any interference or pointer. Also, I'm not having to payment or exchange batteries which is a plus.8. The bonus Homeshare wireless lecturer is nice, not splendid, but you can take note to streamed composition off of the arrangement in manifold place to stay and counting out-of-doors. It too isn't really wireless as it has to be plugged in. It was easy to join to the arrangement and I'm fortunate ample to take note to the touchtone phone logic over it. I have a practically sized household and it worked upstairs as well as on the same amount as my wireless router.9. Background the touchtone phone logic presets was easy.10. The usb ports play record minutes well. It's easy and austere ample.11. The user boundary is VERY habitual from owning a ps3 and a Sony tv. It is austere and intuitive.12. Background the DLNA with my pad was easy ample.13. The diffident is good ample. It would be nice if it were rf or had a keypad or a upset, but that isn't actually too de rigueur.Con's:1. The logic takes in this area 8 seconds (give or take) to load. Ordinarily my tv is on by that time and I'm coming up long-sufferingly for it to engage so I can in fact mind my curriculum.2. It may maybe everlastingly be louder. But at its max audio, it does shake the household a modest.3. I plugged in a crappy (play toy) karaoke apparatus via composite cables into the audio receiver and here was a significant lag. I then plugged the composite cables into the tv and ran that same audio feed back to the receiver via optical cable and here was soothe a lag, but it wasn't near as bad.4. Wireless speakers aren't really wireless. They have a indicate receiver which plugs into the wall and the speakers are wired into that. It's not bad... but it isn't really wireless.5. The homeshare bonus lecturer doesn't work with Pandora or additional internet touchtone phone logic options. It also doesn't seem to work with just the austere box mode. If I were to buy the lecturer, the limitations would annoy me, but in view of the fact that it was in the end free, I reflect it is a very nice bonus. This lecturer also isn't completely wireless compelling into account it has to be plugged in. It would be nice if it were array operated, but no.6. They give you 20 touchtone phone logic point slots, but everywhere I live only 7 or 8 stations actually come in well. Here doesn't seem to be a way to austerely opt out of a point, so cycling owing to them any earnings repeating stations, or promptly tender owing to non-stations.7. Strangely ample, my Sony tv diffident doesn't seem to be able to potential the audio logic. And my directv diffident doesn't have full potential... but I reflect that is in view of the fact that I have to top out a uncommon curriculum code. I'll play with it to get it to work.Revision 9/29/12:Below 7 Con I was able to map out which point curriculum mode for my DirecTv diffident. So I have full functionality - intermission, play, stop, etc. Also, the blue-collar says that here is an app for your Iphone which allows you to potential the blu-ray player. The blue-collar appears to be a bit outdated in view of the fact that here is an app for Apparatus as well, and it is sweet cool. You can use your buzz's upset cover like a mousepad and you can go to a website and then send it to the tv via the blu-ray player. So you can show sites and cinema with ease. I actually like what they did with it. Even as you can't send youtube videos frankly to your tv, you can use the youtube curriculum and then use the buzz to type which show you are tiresome to mind. It is a actually nice gathering.

I ongoing off looking for a home theatre wrap that had wireless rear speakers. (And yes folks they are not absolutely wireless, the speakers have to get power from everyplace) I looked at a link of sony units. The main wits I chose the 890 was austerely the wireless lecturer that you use over your wifi arrangement, effectively everyplace. This was great not only did I get a exact sound logic but this extra lecturer that retails for $200. When I expected the manufactured goods I was very happy with the consequences. The sound feature sounds sweet good when surround sound is committed (Even if when 2 supervise over signals are reproduced the sound isn't no matter what thing to brag about) I still have no complaints. Doubtless the main wits I gave this manufactured goods 5 stars was how much integration this manufactured goods is competent of. I have a Sony Smart TV and the sound logic works with my first tv diffident, when I power on my TV the home theatre also powers on, but that is not all, the whole diffident is synced with the home theatre logic and this is a winner for me. There are no extra buttons to push (ex:BD/DVD; Audio) the diffident reluctantly knows which contrivance to power. This sound logic was very user forthcoming and I have by now not compulsory to numerous broadcast. If you are in need of a exact home theatre logic I would stick with Sony, even even if the price may seem privileged then competing sound systems they actually have went above Samsung and LG. And a bonus: This sound logic cost me $600, I have a sound logic in my car that cost me over $3000 and this home theatre logic basically matches the feature.

December 28, 2012I bought the Sony 890W family acting logic for Christmas 2012, and one of my tower speakers (colorless one)has a garbled and derision signal to it. I called the Sony customer service number and including a painstaking 90 little troubleshooting conference the lecturer soothe sounds terrible. The release key including the intention of Sony existing me was to pack the total logic up and hurl it in trade to them. Serously! Including I washed-out numerous hours background it up not to mention one of the vex shooting options was to do a factory reset....wiping out my settings and DLNA connections. Sony customer service understood they may possibly not just hurl me a replacement lecturer. I am packing the logic up and compelling it in trade, but not to exchange what I have. Extremely, buy a logic including the intention of the manufacturer in detail supports the customer including the deal. My overall rating is one star at best. I would not urge export the Sony family teater logic because they do not put forward satisfactory customer service.Rhonda

This system is by far the BEST you can buy for under $1,000 its amazing and so easy to bed in and tune to fit your livingroom. This is a must buy!!! But good luck consequence it at best buy, frys, Sony, ect. They are out of stock all over the west coast! The tiny speaker that comes in the set isn't so awesome but everything else makes up for it! The voice clarity is exact and the bass isn't over the top but you can sure set it that way, we can't even watch movies with the volume over 14 at night its sooo good, even when you turn it up it is still clear and has good bass. This is the exact system and is well worth the $500

After almost a year (purchased in late June 2012) of vex free routine, I can no longer receive picture or audio as connection goes starting Comcast Cable Amount to HDMI 1 on the logic. As I curve on the television, the picture and sound are there for a following and then the cover flashes snow. Very frustrated with Sony support. I sent the unit to the Sony Service Focal top in Laredo, TX, After two weeks, they returned the unit as is saying they could possibly not duplicate the conundrum. So, I have a $800 Family Theater logic that is useless. To make matters of poorer quality, I am getting the go on around about the manufacturer's warranty and the whole warranty that I purchased.

I just purchased a Sony HX750 3DTV and needed a 3D Forbidding Ray player & signal logic. I heard this logic at a community peddler and was actually impressed. I also needed wireless rear surround speakers, so this was the most excellent way to go. Found a splendid fee online and prearranged it. Complex was super straightforward and logic sounds fantastic. I be inflicted with a Dish HD receiver and Xbox connected with no harms. Just run all your components into the in trade of the TV, at that calculate run the digital optical audio cable in trade to the receiver and you'll be inflicted with no issues. I highly urge this logic.

Having scan all the reviews by additional customers leaves me including modest more to add; most much:- The system DOES accept and is able to decode Dolby Digital Surround signal from further than fund, disparate what's been mentioned in additional reviews.- It also can mess about all media formats that I've tried to throw at it so far; MKV,M2TS,MP4,WMV,AVI to mention a few.- Setup was a breeze except for mounting the surround speakers on wall mounts (not built-in) that you be inflicted including to provide yourself. If you don't want to do that, buy the higher model (BDV-N990W) which comes including tall boys for the adjoin and surround speakers. Now to the mind I didn't yield it 5 stars:This state-of-the-art system DOES NOT be inflicted including a shuffle function!!!!!!!!I searched thoroughly owing to the manuals, online, and irrevocably contacted Sony consumer support and they confirmed that the shuffle function is only available for the iPhone/iPod only!!I find it tricky to believe that such a splendid manufactured goods would be missing one of the most valuable functions any $10 media player in the market would be inflicted including. What were the "designers" of the system (if they may possibly be called so) thinking, just beats me!!!No shuffle, earnings you be inflicted including to manually skip or, the tricky way, is to initiation randomized mess about lists and keep them under windows media player and then mess about it even if the system to get the shuffle peek.I don't know if this is something that Sony can fix owing to a future firmware update, but it's definitely a MAJOR frustration that we shouldn't be inflicted including had to transact business including in the first place. If not, the system delivers all that it promises in an elegant fashion fit for my income opportunity and yours.
