Harman Kardon BDS 370 2.1-Channel Integrated Home Theater System Buyer Reviews

I looking for this kind of Amp & Speaker.Everything is good except manual & installation.It seems to be very complecated.

Let me say this first - there are plenty of 2.1 systems out there much cheaper (except Bose - but Bose 'sound' is not worth it - trust me).I was looking at this model and there are very few reviews out there - so hopefully this will help anyone contemplating this model. Harman Kardon seems to be more popular in Europe than the US and availability here is not as plentiful.PROS:*Great Fit and Finish - this is a well made product. The receiver itself has brushed stainless steel on the top and gold plated connectors and the speakers, sub, even the remote all exude quality. It is a good looking unit*Good power from a smaller unit*3 HDMI connections and component - this can serve you well as a hub for all of your electronic AV stuff*Loud - it can really fill a room and the sub has a lot of power*FAST blue ray load times - this is by far the fastest loading payer I have ever encountered. You will get to your movie in no time at all.*Picture quality is superb from BR and DVDs.CONS:*You can hear the disc spinning in the player - it gets very annoying as the disk slows down as the movie progresses and if you are listening at softer volumes - this really takes away from the experience and I am shocked that such a high quality product by HK would allow this.*Connectivity - no wireless or Bluetooth built in - in this day and age that is unacceptable - the only connection is an Ethernet jack and that is for BD Live - so basically useless. iPod needs a $100+ dollar Bridge IIIP connector - which synchs well but does not SHOW any of your items on the TV - only on the small dot matrix display on the receiver.*NOTE - in the UK there are 2 newer models of this 2.1 system - they have Bluetooth and AIRPLAY built in, the receiver has been redesigned and the satellite speakers have been upgraded - you may want to wait until those versions come the US.*Sound - while plenty powerful and loud - music sounds just ok and dialogue could be a bit better*Price - you are definitely paying a premium for the brand and the materials - I just don't know if they are worth it.Hopefully this will assist you in making a decision. At this point - I would pass for a more cost effective model or wait until the models with wireless connectivity integrated are available.

First, this delivers great sound! However, my first system stopped working within three months. It simple stopped reading disks, although the iPod doc continued to work. Now, after another couple of months, the replacement system has developed the same problem. Once again, I have to return it to the company for a replacement. The last time, shipping cost me $60. Summing up, great sound but not worth the trouble. I will never buy another Harmon Kardon product.

I did many hours of research on which sound system I wanted to purchase. I currently have a Samsung sound system in my living room and like it a lot except for the software aspect of it is a little sketchy. I decided to go with the Harmon Kardon BDS 370 2.1 for my bed room because it is a simple and elegant system. I have no regrets on the purchase of the Harmon Kardon. It produces excellent sound at all volume levels and has all the features I need in a simple 2.1 sound system. I would definitely purchase another Harmon Kardon product in the future. One thing I wish the Harmon Kardon had was a better users manual. Sometimes I have questions and can't seem to get them answered with the simple user manual provided.
